When the wizard starts it searches for a gateway but cannot locate one. It will not go any further. It just refers me to the website for help/
OK, I take it you have WiFi fully turned on, on both your mobile and the Modem/Router. You'll also need Mobile data turned on on your mobile.
Thanks
Yes the wifi is connected and working from the mobile. Also the Mobile data is turned on.
Just a thought...Are you connected via 5g or 2.4g?
This works as I did it long ago:-
Extend Ring Time for Messagebank/Telstra Home Messages 101. Step 2: Enter the number of seconds you wish the phone to ring before a call is diverted (between 5 and 60 seconds). To extend the ring timesimply enter * * 61 * 1 0 1 * * (number of seconds: 15, 20, 25 or 30) # and press SEND or CALL.
It is probably a CVC problem which is a Telstra purchase problem - not purchasing enough. Ring them and demand it be fixed and purchase more. I have posted within Crowd Support before that this is a huge Australia Wide problem.
how long does it take to process online orders for NBN connection - been waiting now since 1st March
Update
It is now the 16th March and I still do not have an internet connection (13 days since the NBN indoor box was installed and activated. Remember My order date for this was on the 22nd February
After being told to wait 24hrs-48 hrs every time I rang I had no choice but to go to the Ombudsman. But in order to be able to lodge a complaint with the Ombudsman you first must lodge a complaint with telstra and obtain a reference number. You are also meant to be assigned a case manager but they said I would have to wait 5 days before I will be assigned to case manager!!
I now have been assigned another case manager who is ‘addressing my complaint” and thus far has been less than helpful and in fact been rude and flippant He told me that these provisioning errors can take months and that there was no option to restart the whole thing and I just have to wait. He has not attempted to provide any solution. I then asked could he organize a dongle in the interim. He said no but I could go buy one and I would be reimbursed. Would anybody who has experienced what I have with Telstra actually believe that would happen? And the point here is why did I have to come up with this solution? Why was this not offered by Telstra a week ago??
Hi,
Just had the NBN connected today via fttn & followed all the steps to ensure all my services were back up & running etc. However it appears my home phone service has stopped working all together.
A couple of questions for you all:
Do I need to buy dect phone so that my phone service continues to work?
I've done some research & found that I should reconnect an adsl filter to incoming line to the telstra modem & one line from the filter should go to the dsl input & the other should to the pstn input into the modem & then connect my phone into the phone input into the the modem. Is this the case?
I'm prepared to buy a new phone but if I don't have to then so be it... I confused
Thanks
I did a "What is my IP address?" check after our fixed wireless NBN was installed and the answer was something like this:
2001:8003:f018:d900:5820:a8e1:2b90:e55
This is very different from my ADSL IP which was something like:
203.45.125.217
Do all NBN IP addresses look like the above one starting with 2001?
I know this is an old post but I thought I'd throw my two cents in. I had exactly the same question and no-one could answer me either. Initially, when I set up my T-Gateway, I connected my fax and cordless phone together using my old ADSL filter. It worked fine, but I realised that my copper line was still active upon connecting the T-Gateway and I couldn't receive calls. I called Telstra and I was told that the NBN doesn't like splitters. Once the copper line was switched off though, I re-connected the ADSL filter and fax and haven't had any problems since. Side note, I've noticed since my copper line was turned off that I get crystal clear reception on my AM radio (which I never used to), I wonder if the copper line was interfering?
Hi there
I have recently changed the normal nbn modem to T-gate Modem, somehow both of our desktops couldn't connect to any other sites but google or youtube. The computers show that the internet is connected perfectly. Also my macbook is working perfectly fine. I'm pretty sure that both of our computers can receive wireless signal as we had no troule with the old modem but the speed was really slow. Is there any suggetions?
Kind regards
Anthony
Hey DrQwerty90,
You wouldn't read about it but I just got home from work & now the phone service is back up & running so to speak....
To answer your questions there was no dial tone at all & yes I can access the control panel of the Gateway & the Telephony service is Active.
Must have been some delay in activating to voice service. That's all I can put it down to.
However I can't access my messagebank service as my pin is no longer accepted, I'II call Telstra in the morning to see if they can reset the pin.
Thanks for your kind help. I greatly appreciate it.
How long does it take to migrate my service to nbn?nbn went live in my area 4 weeks and so far i have made 3 orders with telstra and i am getting nowhere near of being connected meanwhile being stuck on adsl service with download speeds of 1.25 mb/s.Yesterday was the initial switchover daybut surprise surprise nothing happened.now have been on the phone to youe support since yesterday evening wth nobody having any ideaso of whats going on.with this 3rd order i dont even have an order number so where do we go from here telstra???????
Yesterday I had my NBN Connection box installed and the service activated indicated by the green lights coming from the box. The first thing I decided to do with my new service was to test my download speed, I originally tested my speed on the website http://www.ozspeedtest.com in which I got the result of 2mb/s. Next I tried the speed test at http://www.iinet.net.au/internet/broadband/speed-test/ in which I got 30mb/s then again at http://vic.speedtest.bigpond.net.au getting the same 30mb/s. This is seriously very dissappointing as this is through my ethernet cable and I should be getting the 100/40mb/s (Tier 5).
Next I decided to try a real download by going to http://ftp.iinet.net.au/ and attempting to download the 'test100MB.dat' file which downloaded at a lousy 900kb/s. Secondly I attempted to download another 100mb test file from http://mirror.internode.on.net/pub/test/, again the same speed of around 0.9 - 1mb/s. This is very sad, I have attempted to turn off and on my modem and connection box just as my NBN booklet suggested as a troubleshooter for slow download speeds and the same thing is happening. This is truely pathetic as I am paying $95 a month for this service just for the Telstra speed test to say the my download speed is 1/3 than it should be and for my real download speed to by 1/100 of what it should be. I know that some websites cannot offer a fast download mirror server but as I tested these downloads from two prominent ISP servers I doubt that is why it's downloading at a subpar rate.
How can I get the download speed that I payed for?
Also calling the 1800 number provided in the NBN booklet doesn't work as after I go through the automated part I don't get a customer representative.
