Did you try to just put in the WPA key? If you head back to the modem config > wifi, it should list the WEP key/password/passphrase there

You could use a Gmail account as your default mail account and have it "Fetch" for mail from Bigpond. On a side note, I don't use my ISP's mail/webmail, makes it less of a hassle to move, quickly!
