Totally disaster !!

The technician didn't come at all this morning (11 Aug), supposed to be 8am to 12pm.

I called NBN at 12:20pm, spent about 20 mins on the phone until 12:38pm, NBN said the technician cannot come this morning because of high workload. However, another technician will come in 30-45 mins.

Until 1:08pm, NBN technician called me saying he will come at 2pm.

OK, he arrived finally at 2:35pm.

Upon he arrived he straight away told me he knew the problem is from the copper cable at the junction of the street. And the cable got to be replaced.

He did some test from the telephone socket and confirmed the problem. When I asked he also said about 30 customers around the area affected by that copper cable.

I also asked seems like the copper cable should be an old existing problem. He said in the past, using ASDL, the internet won't be affected much as it's analog, the phone quality is affected, occsasionally some noise anyway (that's true !). However, now with the NBN, the connection would be affected because NBN is digital.

He said Telstra (not NBN) needs to replace that copper cable and sealed it against the water in order to solve the problem.

So, he can't do anymore and leave. Just asked me to contact Telstra or NBN to check when that cable will be replaced.

Any response from Telstra ?
