If FTTN connect gateway directly to phone wall socket without using a ADSL splitter/filter and remove any device plugged into spare phone sockets.
Yes the Telstra Tech will install the other equipment.
I might of mis understood your question. If you already have a gateway modem supplied by Telstra the WAN port of that should connect to the UNI-D1 port of the NBN box..
1 year before I by a plan with NBN L, At that time I can see dateil in my account is 1000Gb/Month. But last week I moving house to new address, now I just can see 500Gb/Month in my account.
And download speed very slow. The fastest just 2.8Mb/S. Before the fastest speed of the network can be 7-8Mb/S.
I have had no Internet for the past 2 days. I've done all the troubleshooting, I know my way around computers and fixing Internet problems but nothing it working. I have a Telstra gateway modem and the Online button is white. The gateway says that I am connected but no Internet access. The NBN modem box on the wall has all lights green and working.
Other people in the community are also having trouble with their connections, postcode 4610. I'm fairly sure the problem must be on Telstra's end.
Cheers
Mel
It is probably due to damage to network caused by flooding.

We recently connected to nbn with a Telstra gateway connection kit. Initially it worked fine on our computer and all our devices. Now, even though all green lights are on on the modem we only have access on some of our devices and none at all on our computers. I am sending this from the only iPad in the house that is connected. Computer says No Internet connection and other iPaads have a tick and say connected but they are not. Please help.
Have you tried resetting gateway to factory default by using a paper clip to press reset button until gateway turns off. Gateway will reboot, do not turn of power while gateway rebooting.
On F@st5355 gateway Reset switch located under power switch.
IF still on ADSL after reset might have to enter Bigpond user name and password by logging into gateway and clicking on broadband.
Gateway default IP address http://10.0.0.138 or http://192.168.1 or http://192.168.0.1

I have recently had my NBN connected but now can barely use my remote access work connection through Citrix XenApp. Frequent drop outs mean a whole new connection session must be started and even when I am connected progress is extremely slow. It is only this app being affected.
You can try downloading and installing the latest Citrix client for whatever platform you use (e.g. Windows, Mac).
My Citrix connection has been working fine in Windows. The latest release for Windows was on 20.03.2017.
I'll try that thanks.
Go straight to ther TIO via email. That will get things going. Refuse to pay any accounts as well.
FTTN poor mans NBN coming very soon, I have applied to telstra for changeover. Employee stated it will happen in 7 days. New modem has arrived and all is ready.
Next question,
How do I know I am connected ?
When do I install the new modem ?
After reading all the telstra failures in this forum I wonder if it will ever happen. Telstra must think we are total dickheads to put up with the total disregard to their customers. No wonder they are last in all customer service surveys.
Anyway back to the questions, any answers will be appreciated.

Can install modem anytime but no later than day of cut over. If ADSL modem is still connected on cut over day could block port on Node.. Might have to log into modem click on broadband link and enter username and password if no internet connection. Also ensure PPP enabled is on.
Phone light will come on once cut over to NBN
Gateway default IP address http://10.0.0.138 or http://192.168.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or 192.168.15.1.

Remove ADSL Filter/splitter once cut over to NBN
thank you soooooo much W201 ....
Yes the guy at Optus actually explained FTTP etc to me & said it was future proof ..... I'll be dead before 50 yrs is up !! LOL
Your Good News No. 2 reply ..... Yaaaay ... Thanks heaps ... I am so relieved to be able to use my existing phones ..... sounds like I just have to have the Gateway modem & current landline phone closer together (not ideal tho)
#3 ... my three separate Telstra accounts all come on the one bill so I probably won't notice much difference.
Thankyou .... Yes, now I just need to sort out IF I can stay on my old old obsolete plan with Telstra (conflicting advice) or check out other providers. Optus was opposite the Telstra shop yesterday ... thats why I popped in there. A bit cheaper but not much.
Maybe you can help me with my original question to Telstra...... Seeing I already have a dedicated Bigpond Cable Internet line (fibre optic ??) into house (separate from phone line) .... Can this still be kept and used ..... and I'll just get rid of my home phone & not have to worry about the NBN ?????
My download speeds range from 26 mbps to just over 35 mbps .... yet the basic FAST NBN will only deliver 12 mbps !!
They told me I can pay more for VERY FAST NBN and 'enjoy' 25 mbps ... or pay EVEN MORE and receive the super sonic rocket ship speed of 100 mbps (download) !!
Ha ha ha ... just ignore the last paragraph .... Im just a tad cheesed off becaise I am happy with my Cable speed for only $49.
have a great weekend and thanks so very much for your help and advice. :-)
