Even if speed boost was activated maximum VDSL link speed is 25/4.75. Once all customers are cut over to NBN and there is no co existence interference with ADSL services the speed of your link might increase but for now its not worth paying for a speed boost.

Yes should be "Super Fast" It some times takes a couple of days for NBN co to apply the speed boost but in your case there would be no point as line is only capable of Fast..

In the image below line is on Fast plan but maximum line rate is 40/6.4

Current speeds are as follows,

Download from speedtest.net settles down at about 6 mbs

Upload takes a while and ends up close to 0.34 mbs

Speeds from testmy.net

Download 3.1Mbs

Upload 304Kbs

I am now paying for ADSL2.

Order for FTTN NBN was made on 1/4/2017 at 9.00am.

Nothing more heard so far though I do have a reference number and call back facility.

Wish me luck.

Email the TIO, don't bother with telstra after all that time I would be just emailing the TIO.

That will get them started.

You have given Telstra at least two chances. Email the TIO directly and they will sort them out. Telstra will ring ASAP to get you to be satidfied. When it is fully sorted and running to your expectations them then negotiate a full refund for services not suppplied.

I reckon two chances is the absolute limit. After that go in and get help.

No, the DSL code stays as Fast, it will not change in the modem settings.

It should change in MyAccount. In MyAccount it should show NBN FTTN Fast, NBN FTTN Very Fast or NBN FTTN Super Fast but not in the modem stats, that pretty much always stays as fast. I think it may show turbo or something for the handful of people still on 1.5Mbps max plans but otherwise no.

Rang the 1800 number got nowhere with the first consultant. Rang back and was told yes there was an issue with my area which fitted my timeline for slow speeds but she didn't know when it would be fixed. She said that she would give me a ring the next day with an update on the issue. This was done and I was told that they still didn't know when it would be fixed.

I am sorry that there is no time frame available for us to confirm when this outage will be completed and the service restored to normal Smiley Sad We do have this raised with the NBN Co directly and get the updates from them accordingly on when the outage is to be completed. At this time there is no ETR that we will be able to confirm, but I can assure you this is being worked on.

The ACCC says internet providers must advertise the speeds actually achievable by their customers. It also says customers are able to wait a maximum of 18 months from the date an area has been declared “NBN ready” to disconnect from existing services. This would allow time to consider the plans available and to determine if there are any issues with a particular provider. A complaint to the telecommunications watchdog is available if issues with service providers cannot be resolved.

Contacting the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman was going to be a last resort but it seems like Telstra isn't leaving me much choice. My order number: 1-1107661775888 in the tracker is now saying that the order is not found. My 24x7 app is also not reflecting any changes. If i return home and my plan change hasn't rolled through, I will contact the TIO.

NBN SPEED

I know there are many factors involved in the amount of speed with the nbn, but why would my internet after 2 consecutive speeds tests with a 30 second delay, go from 12.85 to 21.5??

Re: NBN SPEED

It could be caused by the OS, an app or other device on local network downloading data in background during first test.

Probably because it happens too often. Either that or incompetence.
