Do you know if it is

NBN FTTP, FTTN, Fixed Wireless?
If it is FTTP you will have a white box on both the outside and the inside of the house.
If it is Fixed Wireless you will have an antenna on the house and a box on the inside
If it is FTTN it will connect via the copper connection like an ADSL service.

Also have you checked http://servicestatus.telstra.com to see if there is an outage in your area?
