I have an NBN Connection using a Telstra WiFi Modem. Recently our speed was 'doulbled' by Telstra on a trial basis for Free and without us asking? This trial was terminated approx two weeks ago and it appears that now they will eventually offer this increased speed (50Mbps) for an extra $10.00 per month or 100 Mbps for $20.00 per month. Is this just a come on?
Initially we were convinced to change to the NBN because this would solve ALL our download problems experienced with ADSL2, we cannot remember being told that our service was limited. Now we find that that is a range of speeds ABOVE the "NORM (25 Mbps)" and only available only if we pay extra??
My questions are;
1) Why are there various speed levels to what is supposed to be the 'ANSWER' to download speed problems.
2) What would be the advantage in increasing the speed and paying the extra (at present our download speed according to a test using an Iinet site varies from as low as 7.0Mbps to approx 20.0 Mpps depending on time of day, etc).?
3) Where would the increase in speed be more noticable, if at all?
