I live in palmwoods, sunshine coast, Qld. 4555
When I moved here I had to switch to telstra as they were the only ISP in the area.
The only available connection was adsl 1. I always had speed tests of 6mbs. and actual down loads of around 600-900kbs.
Telstra advised me a month ago that NBN was available so i jumped at the chance to connect.
The speed I recieved after connection was 12-14mbs actual download 2-3mbs. This was a huge improvement on my adsl 1.
The very next day my speed dropped to 1mbs and 200-300kbs actual download....... Thanks Telstra.
It was not until after midnight that my speeds returned to 12-14mbs.
my adsl 1 looks pretty good now at least it was the same speed 24/7.
