Sorry to hear about the frequent disconnections that you are experiencing, RippedOff3. Have you contacted Tech Support yet so that this can be investigated?
The consultants will take you through some basic troubleshooting to make sure that the disconnections are not related to the Wi-Fi or modem. Depending on the results of the troubleshooting and tests that they perform, they may organise an appointment for a Telstra Tech to attend and check the internal configuration & modem or escalate this direct to NBN Co to have the network investigated.
