We've just been connected to the NBN. After explaining our needs to the installers, they installed it in what could possibly not be a worse place. I literally sit within 1 metre and still get disconnected. There is zero signal upstairs which is on a different power circuit so as far as I know a powerline adapter is out. What I'd like to get advice on is the supplied Gateway router vs a store bought router. Any benefit in purchasing a router and if so which has the potential of the best signal. As for getting a signal upstairs. I could possibly run a cat5e cable to the P.C (if that's my best option), but how can I get a strong wireless signal as well. Any advice is appreciated, as it's been 2 days like this and I am already regreting switching over.
