"Congestion" was the cited reason this evening when I rang to find out why my brand new (today) 100mbps/40mbps connection is running at 26mbps/10mbps. Very disappointed, I've been waiting months for the NBN to be made available in my area (Officer Vic) and signed up for "Super Fast" within the first week of the service going "Live". Today, nearly a month after I signed up because of "congestion" I have a service a little faster on download than what my now redundant ADSL service was giving(15mbps/1mbps). It is costing me an extra $70.00 a month for the privilege. I was also told an 'upgrade' to increase bandwidth was currently underway with an anticipated completion 11/7/2016. Surely this information was available when I first made the decision to commit to this new Telstra service on a 24 month plan. I'm really not getting what I am paying for, but all that sort of talk with Telstra is met with polite apologise. Well I have a reference number CVC000000449277, and on the 11th of July watch out if the speed hasn't increased appreciably! A very disappointed Telstra customer of over 40 years!
