ADSL to NBN switch

We had an appointment today to get our nbn wires switched over out on the street, about 2pm they did whatever they have to do.
Well now at about 5:30pm telstra have switched off our adsl connection and after switching over to the provided modem and cable the nbn isn't working.
Is there normally a crossover time or have telstra screwed up and not flicked the switch to turn on our nbn?
