Sounds to me like an issue not with the NBN not working so much as a possibly faulty modem/router.
Are you able to connect to it via ethernet cable at all to confirm it's just a wfi issue?
If it's a Telstra supplied modem I'd give tech support a call on 133933. They can troubleshoot with you and if it's still within warranty and it's the modem/router then they can arrange a replacement to be sent out to you.
