As stated in the title, for weeks now I have a very high ping with every game. Overwatch, Ghost in the Shell online, BF4 and Titanfall 2. I am using a NBN modem.
I made no changes to my computer or network and yet, the ping is so high that I can not even play for a minute. It goes so far as over 4000.
I made a speed test with OOKLA and this is what it tells me:
Ping: 92
Download Speed: 0.76Mbps
Upload speed: 0.19Mbps
I'm using a desktop computer that is connected to the modem over electrical wire. This worked flawlessly since February 2016 until the last few weeks. I Have notcied it when playing Overwatch and my ping was constantly over 4000, once even over 5000. So I thought it is Blizzards fault. Then I switched to other online games like Ghost in the Shell and even there the ping was very high. few days ago I got my self Titanfall 2 and also there the ping is over 3000. None of the games I was able to play an entire round since I get kicked out or even loses connection to server.
But here is the funny thing.
My mother with her simple laptop and TV, has full speed using only wireless. While me and my wife get none of that. She uses wireless too. My mother gets these speeds using OOKLA:
Ping: 39
Download Speed: 16.99Mbps
Upload Speed: 4.7Mbps
I really do not get it why she has full speed using wireless only, while me using cable, have such low speed. including my wife, who uses wireless only. I usually play at night when I know no one is using the modem and yet, the ping is very high.
