It is unlikely to be changed, however the only chances would be to protest it with your local member and/or the minister for communications and try and petition them, it is unlikely you will not have to go to nbn but you might be able to get them to consider NBN over HFC Cable for your area instead... maybe...
Do note however, you do have 18 months to move over from the date it is considered 'ready for service', so you can wait and move over at a later stage, which hopefully by that stage the nbn is more balanced out and the experience will hopefully be more similar.
