Telstra will be able to provide you with a .com email address as a part of their process to set up the NBN connection.

They will have a primary one which will essentially be the service identification for the internet (kinda like a phone number is for a phone service), but they allow you to set up extra .com addresses as you require.

You could also consider a third party system like Gmail that way you can keep the address even if you do end up wanting to change providers at any stage.
